Founded in 1946 by Gino Amisano, AGV has been the leading force in helmet design and motorcycle racing since. Named after himself and hometown, Amisano Gino Valenza, this legend has transformed into almost every aspect of motorcycle racing. Holding a great reputation for its innovative designs and materials, their products have been used and tested by the best of the best; like 15-times world champion Giacomo Agostini and MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi. In 1954, AGV created the first fiberglass crash helmet and just two years later came up with a design using it's classic "pudding basin" shape, but with a much more protective, enveloping design of the "Jet" helmet. AGV was the first company to make its mark on the racetrack with their trackside advertising in 1958 and within months the company had gone worldwide. Shifting their visibility up a gear again in 1972, Amisano began a program of rider sponsorship that continues to this day. Constantly improving comfort and aerodynamics, AGV was the name on the first full-face helmet and you can find their logo on some of the top motorcycle riders today. In 2007 AGV combined with Dainese, a dynamic sport clothing company, and have continued to crush glass ceilings. Using their research and design expertise, AGV and Dainese provide complete safety and performance solutions, protecting the rider from head to toe. That same year they also announced a new integrated technical design and construction approach called AGV Extreme Standards- designed around the rider's head and not the shell. This resulted in supreme improvements in protection, fit, comfort, and reliability. All AGV helmets are designed to those standards now. After 70+ years, this company strives for safety advancements and new performance, with the values and reputation of excellence that were established many years ago.
