V-Twin - 40-0406 - Oil Tank with Side Fill
Description
Our electric start smooth swingarm oil tank features side fill with top fittings but can only be used with Hitachi type starter motors. Oil tank features a chrome finish.
Tank will install on stock FX or FL Swingarm frames and houses the stock FXE 12 volt battery, sold separately. Requires custom installation for mounting with an Hitachi starter motor, for frames as listed. This oil tank allows removal of battery without removing the tank from the frame. Full wrap around design including back panel, for battery to be fully enclosed. *NOTE: The battery well is 5-1/2" deep, measuring 7-1/4" x 4-1/4" x 5-1/2". The thread size of the drain plug and feed is 1/8" NPT. Requires Hitachi starter bracket for installation. *NOTE: Use right and left zinc oil tank brackets for 1965-84 FL-FX installation.
