V-Twin Roadster 3.5gal Gas Tank for Harley XL 1952-1978

Replaces Harley-Davidson part number 61006-57.

Description:

Replica gas tank has a right side petcock location, and fuel capacity of 3.5 gallons.

Check the tank for flaws and fit before painting. Do not grind or sand the seams or joints. Clean the inside of the tank. It is suggested to pressure test and use a tank sealer. Check petcock opening, making sure the petcock can be easily installed. Petcock fitting should be masked or plugged during painting for easy installation of petcock.

Front mount tab holes to rear mount tab holes measure 21-1/4" center to center. The fuel opening is 4-1/2" from the front edge of the tank and 16" from the rear edge.

*Note: UPS may consider this part as packaged "oversize" for shipment, as compared to the actual weight, which will result in higher shipping costs.

**NOTE: For an early retro look like on 1957-1978 Sportsters, pair up with #50-1068 Replica rear Fender Steel, for use with 18" wheels only.
