Deadbeat Retreat 2016 Event Coverge
Saturday morning people from all over got on their bikes and rode to Stonehedge in Gray, Maine to have themselves a great time at the 2016 Deadbeat Retreat.
The Deadbeat Retreat is all about getting on your motorcycle, riding to the woods, popping a tent, and having a good time. There is nothing better then being outside with friends drinking beers and talking bikes.
This year at the retreat we had a bike show. Bike builders from all over the east coast came to show their builds. Under the tent a ton of rad motorcycles lined up and people were able to vote for what bike they liked best. The two winners both had Panheads. Top Chop went to Dennis Fauerbach with a 1960 Panhead and runner up was Kevin Deschambeault, winner of last years Deadbeat Retreat, with a 1949 Panhead (the Frankenpan). Top Chop received a trophy made by Nick Beaulieu owner of Forever Two Wheels Maine and 2nd place received a wood burned sign made by Lisa owner of HowlingNoon.
Outside the bike tent vendors set up. This included Barnstorm Cycles, Death Chasers, Forever Two Wheels Maine, Lane Splitter, Troy Fabrications, and Wild Belle.
There was also a raffle where we gave away a bunch of good stuff thanks to our sponsors: VNM, TC Bros Choppers, LC Fabrications, HardDrive, Heatwave Visual, Counter Balance Cycles, Biltwell Inc., and Barnstorm Cycles.
Stonehedge's dirt parking lot was soon taken over by bike games and burn outs. We had a slow race, kick-start race, keg push, and a hole shot race. We also had a giant slip and slide to cool off on.
Later in the day a few bands went on. The Icepicks opened, followed by Murder Weapon, and The Worried. Once the show outside on the stage was over we took it inside the barn where Milltown Roadshow played.
At night we lit a fire by the barn and continued to party. The next morning was pretty rough, but well worth it.
We had an awesome time and want to thank everyone for coming. We appreciate your support and can't wait to party with you all next year!
Check out the video Bill Politis put together of the event, please note he was passed out drunk by 6:30 so he didn't film at night:
