Harley-Davidson Brake Pad Guide: Every Model, 1972–2026
Brake pads are cheap, they wear out, and there are a lot of them. This guide shows which pads fit your Harley, front and rear, by model family and year from 1972 to today. Every pad on the list is one we stock, and the H-D part number is there so you can cross-check against what's on your bike now.

How to Use This Guide
Find your model family, then the row for your year. Each cell has the factory H-D part number for that pad, then the pads we carry that replace it. If your bike has aftermarket calipers (Performance Machine, Brembo, GMA, etc.), the factory number doesn't apply. Pads for those are listed by caliper, so call us or check your caliper model.
Not sure what you've got? The engine and model year tell you most of it. Our Engine ID Guide will help you figure it out.

Which Compound?
- Organic (Kevlar/Aramid) – Quiet, easy on rotors, good bite cold. They wear faster and fade sooner when they get hot. Good for stock rotors and easy riding.
- Semi-Metallic – In between organic and sintered. A good all-around pad for most riders.
- Sintered (HH) – Metal particles fused together. Best stopping power, longest life, handles heat and wet weather. They can be harder on rotors, so check that your rotors are rated for sintered pads.
- Carbon / Ceramic – Strong bite with less dust. A good upgrade for heavy baggers and two-up riding.
- Lyndall Gold Plus, Xtreme Racing & Z-Plus – Made in the USA with more bite than stock pads. The Xtreme Racing pads run cooler than sintered pads, with no noise and moderate dust.
Always replace pads in pairs (both sides of the caliper, and both calipers on dual-disc front ends), bed them in with a few easy stops, and check your rotors. If they're scored, warped or under the minimum thickness stamped on them, replace them too. Shop brake rotors.
