Greg Bourdon's Road Glide Barnstorm Build!
Greg Bourdon's Road Glide clearly makes a great first impression just off a quick glance. I met Greg at the Wild Rabbit Moto Show in Cambridge, MA where his Road Glide won one of the Peoples Choice classes they had. The bike started it's life as your run-of-the-mill black 2011 Harley Davidson Road Glide before Jake and the guys over at Barnstorm Cycles went all out on the bike, finished with some killer paint by Brenden Parsons at BP Customs.
First Iteration of Greg's RG:
More than enough for most, but not nearly enough for Greg. He went back to the drawing board. Greg reached out to Barnstorm Cycles in Spencer, MA to come up with a plan to take his Glide to the next level. Barnsotrm did just that, turning this RG into a true Performance Bagger.
Dyna Fender Conversion:
The rear subframe was cut and modified to run a Dyna Rear Fender, and to also run the late style RG Saddlebags.
Suspension:
With the framework complete it was time to put some perormance parts on the tail of this Road Glide. A Brock's Performance swingarm, a Beringer radial caliper and rotor, an MJK chaindrive conversion, 2014 modified HD shorty bags, and Ohlins 13.2” remote reservoir rear shock completed the rear end!
Foot Controls:
What's a performance bagger build without some dope mid controls. Greg and Barnstorm removed the old floorboards and came up with something else. a unique one-of-one pair of mid controls were machined and welded on to the bike. They did not stop with the customs one-off parts though, they also had a pair of FXR style side covers fabricated by hand!
Engine:
The drivetrain of this ride was completely gutted as well. Greg went with to the next level with a 124” R&R Cycles Twin Cam, Barnstorm Cycles stainless two-into-one exhaust pipe, a Baker DD7 tranny, a Barnett Scorpion clutch, a BDL Compensator, and an Evolution Industries 7075 clutch hub to produce 139hp/140ftlbs!
Front Suspenison & Brakes:
Winner!
Awards were given out at the end of Wild Rabbit Moto Show and this bike won the award for the guild of its class! Thank you, Greg and the guys, over at Barnstorm for sharing with us!
