Triumph Over Adversity: The 2023 Deadbeat Retreat at Blackthorne Resort
In the storybook of Deadbeat Customs, 2023 will be marked as a chapter brimming with grit, resilience, and an uncanny ability to turn potential setbacks into successes. The Deadbeat Retreat this year stood as a testament to the resilient spirit of the deadbeat community. Let's take you on a journey where a potential hiccup transformed into a experience that will be cherished for years to come.
A Curveball One Week Before the D-Day
As we were gearing up to revel in the much-awaited annual retreat, fate threw us a curveball. A mere week before the event, we lost our venue, the Fiddlehead Campground. Shut down by the state of NH, forcing us to make a last minute audible. The sudden development had us racing against time to find a new haven that would welcome more than 500 fervent bikers.
At times of crisis, unity is our strongest ally. And this belief was affirmed when our incredible community came together, pooling resources and connections to find a new venue. Thanks to the overwhelming support from our customers, we landed at the vibrant and welcoming Blackthorne Resort in New York.
The Blackthorne Resort: A Blessing in Disguise
Transitioning to the Blackthorne Resort not only welcomed us with open arms but offered amenities that transformed the Deadbeat Retreat. Imagine swapping a basic campground for a venue teeming with recreational spots - including an inground pool, two bars, a fun tiki bar, and live bands added to both days of the retreat. It was a silver lining we hadn't anticipated.
The Deadbeat Retreat morphed into a carnival of sorts, providing a mix of activities to indulge in. Friday night we kicked things off with a band and bonfire. Saturday morning Bradley Field (harley_wheeliekid) hosted a group ride through the Catskill Mtn's. During the day on Saturday you also had the option to swim in the onsite creek or swimming pool, the resort became a hotspot of activities.
Adding to the festivities was the "All Bike-Bike Show," named by our friend Fred from the Lowlife Chopper Podcast, who was on site doing a live podcast. But that wasn't it. The retreat also became the backdrop of a wedding ceremony on the sunny Saturday, adding to the already vibrant atmosphere, sprinkled with love and biker union.
Looking Forward to More Vibrant Retreats at Blackthorne
What seemed like a roadblock turned into an event that surpassed our expectations! Here's raising a toast to the Deadbeat Customs community. Until next year, keep the spirit alive, and we hope to see you again, ready to carve new tales of friendship and adventure at the Blackthorne Resort!
