The Bung King Highway Peg Crash Bar is a dual function part for those of you that have rubber mount Harley Sportster (2004 and up) with mid controls. The fully TIG welded assembly takes place of your bolt on highway pegs like a standard highway peg would.  This mount also serves as a crash bar or as some call it, a crash cage. The front crash bar protects the front section of the bike in case of a crash or if the bike happens to fall over. The assembly in fact was designed and built for some local stunt riders to protect their bikes as they were learning new tricks and didn't want to destroy their new Sporty's in the process. The bar features replaceable delrin sliders on the ends to help the bike slide over the pavement as apposed to taking hold of the bike while it is sliding and causing it to high side. A lot of R&D has gone into the exact placement and length of the bar to ensure enough lean angle, to ensure not impacting other types of high speed cornering and still provide the right amount of protection.

Please Note: May not clear some factory pipes. For certain model years, the stock exhaust pipe might interfere with the crossbar of the crashbar, especially near the front pipe. A potential solution is to insert washers or spacers between the crossbar bolt and the frame. This adjustment can distance the main tube from the frame. However, after making this modification, we advise cycling the bike's suspension to ensure that the bottom of the fender doesn't touch the crashbar during suspension compression before heading out for a ride.
